D.A.R.E.

D.A.R.E. is an exciting 13-week program taught by School Resource Officer Jeff Zwicky to teach youth to control their impulses and think about risks and consequences resulting in more responsible choices. As they grow to be responsible citizens, they will lead healthier and more productive drug-free lives. The curriculum meets multiple National Core Standards in the areas of Reading (Literature, Informational Text, and Foundational Skills), Writing, and Speaking and Listening.
The program is instructed in one-hour blocks once a week. The topic of each lesson is different, but builds on the previous lesson. This program is a cooperative effort between the Mountain Bay Metropolitan Police Department and the D.C. Everest School District and Newman Catholic School at St. Mark.
Ride Along With Officers

The Mountain Bay Metropolitan Police Department accepts "ride-along" requests from individuals living or working in Rothschild, Schofield, and Weston who have a legitimate interest in personally observing police patrol operations. The purpose of the program is to provide an educational experience to those desiring a career in law enforcement, to promote positive community relations, and to serve as a recruitment tool.

Before a ride-along is approved, a background investigation will be conducted on individuals requesting to ride with an officer. If you are interested in riding on patrol with a police officer for a portion of a shift, please contact the Mountain Bay Metropolitan Police Department for ride-along request forms.
Radar Reader Board

The Mountain Bay Metropolitan Police Department currently has radar reader boards available to be used throughout locations with traffic speed problems. If you have a problem in your neighborhood, please contact the Mountain Bay Metropolitan Police Department and a radar reader board may be installed in your neighborhood.
